The Moody Church is long time customer of Bannerville, and this winter they reached out looking to replace some vinyl wall graphics and add new ones around their church. The Moody Church is a historic evangelical Christian church located in the Lincoln Park neighborhood on the North side of Chicago.
We installed a total of 20 wall decals, 2 window clings and 1 hanging sign throughout 3 different floors of the church. The graphics varied in size, shape and color. Wall graphics can be made in any size, from a small decal to a full mural spanning an entire wall. There are materials that work on flat smooth surfaces or rough surfaces like brick and stucco or to conform to curves and odd shaped surfaces. Custom removable wall decals are great because they allow you to change your look often for new seasons or special events!
Before installing all the new graphics we had to remove the ones that were currently up. The best way to get wall decals, or most any other decals, off is to use a bit of heat as you peel the graphic. A hair dryer on high heat setting or a heat gun on low heat setting should help the glue release easily. You need to be very careful, though, not to get the wall behind the decal too hot, or the paint may release. Once the decal is removed, the area is cleaned using rubbing alcohol and then the new graphic is applied.
We used 2,658 sq. ft. of matte 3M IJ40 material for this project. Everything was printed on our HP Latex 360 printer, then plotted out using our Graphtec FC8600 plotter. Once plotted, our team weeded and taped all the graphics for installation. The removal and installation of everything around the church took about 5 hours with 4 men on the job.
The gallery below features a few of the projects we have completed for The Moody Church over the past few years.
